Expert witness: Catherine Wilde

 

Since 2012, Catherine has been working to provide expert physiotherapy opinion on causation and liability and quantum reports in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy and chronic pain. Approximately 60% of her work is for Claimant and 40% for defendant. She has completed the Medicolegal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP) Introductory and Advanced Level Report Writing courses and the CUBS (Cardiff University Bond Solon) Certificate in Civil Law.

Catherine is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 29 years of musculoskeletal experience. She trained in Sydney Australia, graduated in 1997, and completed her Masters in Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2004. She worked in Australia in both public and private systems, before moving to the UK in 2004.  She worked in the NHS in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and chronic pain.  She is recognised as an Advanced musculoskeletal (MSK) practitioner by the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP).

Since 2006 Catherine has worked as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist alongside pain specialists and orthopaedic surgeons both in the NHS and private settings. Her current role is with the Health Sciences University where she is employed as Senior Lecturer/Advanced Practitioner for MSK, Course Lead for First Contact Practice and teaches on the advanced  practice course. She also works clinically in GP surgeries as a First Contact Physiotherapist.

Catherine is registered with the HCPC, is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), PhysioFirst (private practitioners) and Advanced Practice Physiotherapy Professional Network.
