Cathy enjoys teaching other physiotherapists and passing on her knowledge for the good of the profession. For eight years she was a regular visiting lecturer at London South Bank University and currently runs and delivers the First Contact Practice PG Cert at the Health Sciences University, Bournemouth. She also currently acts as an expert physiotherapy witness in clinical negligence cases.

In her spare time, Cathy enjoys cycling, swimming, yoga, racquet sports and country walks.

Why Blue Koala?
Cathy is an Australian with an English mother and has lived in the UK for over 20 years. She also spent her early childhood here. She's a true Blue with a British (and Aussie) passport and proud of her Australian heritage. Hence the Koala, decked out in blue.

Cathy set up Blue Koala Physiotherapy in 2014 to have greater scope in treating patients. The practice was originally established in Brighton and is now based in Poole.
​
Originally trained as a physiotherapist in Sydney, Australia, Cathy now has nearly 30 years' experience in the profession. This includes working in private practice in both Australia and the UK. In the UK Cathy has worked within the NHS in London, at Horder Healthcare in East Sussex (a not for profit centre of excellence) and in Dorset for both the Acute Care Trust and the Community Trust. She is currently employed by the Health Sciences University as Senior Lecturer/Advanced Pracititioner and First Contact Physiotherapist. Cathy is course lead for First Contact Practice.

Having worked in musculoskeletal Advanced Practice clinics in the NHS since 2006, Cathy has advanced diagnostic and treatment skills. She is also trained in acupuncture and Pilates with an emphasis on rehabilitation and is an independent prescriber.
