Cathy set up Blue Koala Physiotherapy in Brighton in 2014 to have greater scope in treating patients and is now based in Poole. In addition to hands on treatment she offers proactive and preventative help and advice.
Originally trained as a physiotherapist in Sydney, Australia, Cathy now has over 25 years' of experience in the profession. This includes working in private practice in both Australia and the UK. In the UK Cathy has worked within the NHS in London, at Horder Healthcare in East Sussex - a not for profit centre of excellence - and in for Dorset MSK services. She is currently employed by the AECC University College as Lecturer/ Advanced Pracititioner and First Contact Physiotherapist. Cathy is course lead for First Contact Practice.
Having worked in Advanced Practice clinics in the NHS since 2006, Cathy has advanced diagnostic and treatment skills. She is also trained in acupuncture and Pilates with an emphasis on rehabilitation.
Cathy enjoys teaching other physiotherapists and passing on her knowledge for the good of the profession. For eight years she was a regular visiting lecturer at London South Bank University and currently delivers the First Contact Practice PG Cert at AECC University College, Bournemouth. She also currently acts as an expert witness, providing physio advice in clinical negligence cases.
Activities
In her spare time, Cathy enjoys training for triathlons, cycling, swimming, yoga and country walks. She is a Level 2 British Triathlon Coach.

Why Blue Koala?
Cathy is an Australian with an English mother and has lived in the UK for nearly 20 years. She also spent her early childhood here. She's a true Blue with a British (and Aussie) passport and proud of her Australian heritage. Hence the Koala, decked out in blue.
